Has a truck of Oreo cookies ever had an accident and spilled Oreo
cookies all over the road?  I am looking for a specific news article
or traffic report to verify that this has ever happened.

Also, five star guarentee if you can find such an event where the
local people grabbed the Oreos from off the road.

If this event has never happened, I would like information that proves
it as best as possible.

Thanks for the question. I had some fun researching this one. Truth,
as they say, is stranger than fiction. I found two incidents where
this happened.

An article in the Toronto Star for December 1992 records that after a
three-vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle, a
tractor-trailer transporting cars, and a cookie truck spilled its load
onto the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) near Highway 406, “delighted
motorists” pulled over and scooped up “armloads” of the Oreos.

According to an article in the Greensboro News & Record, in March
2000, tractor-trailer jack-knifed across Interstate 85 (in the
southbound lane on a bridge running over NC 150—Davidson County),
resulting in over 3,750 cases of Oreos, Wheat Thins and Saltines being
spilled along the road. Traffic was tied up for approximately five
hours.
