Hi rpcxdr-ga,
Thanks for the question. I had some fun researching this one. Truth,
as they say, is stranger than fiction. I found two incidents where
this happened.
An article in the Toronto Star for December 1992 records that after a
three-vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle, a
tractor-trailer transporting cars, and a cookie truck spilled its load
onto the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) near Highway 406, delighted
motorists pulled over and scooped up armloads of the Oreos.

According to an article in the Greensboro News & Record, in March
2000, tractor-trailer jack-knifed across Interstate 85 (in the
southbound lane on a bridge running over NC 150Davidson County),
resulting in over 3,750 cases of Oreos, Wheat Thins and Saltines being
spilled along the road. Traffic was tied up for approximately five
hours.
You can read the article online for a fee of $2.95. (Use the URL below
and search terms are oreos trucks).

Google search:

Went to a newspaper database and searched there, that led me to the
two articles.
I hope this answers your question.
