According to:

 http://www.ladas.com/BULLETINS/2002/0802Bulletin/US_SUPER_SILK.html

the tradename "Super Silk" was found to be deceptive and Van Huesen
was denied registration for this term by the US Patent and Trademark
Office in August 2002. It may well be that they no longer (did they
ever?) manufacture shirts under this tradename.

Not being able to register a Tradename doesn't mean that they can't
use it. It only means that the tradename won't be protected and anyone
will be able use it freely. In any case, I bet the name "Van Heusen"
is still protected, and I would assume it's not much of a gamble to
release a brand called "Super Silk Van Heusen" since only a part of
the name can be copied.
