I am looking for a couple of songs available in either CD or Cassette.
One was popular around 1982 or 1983,it had the words "I Want to Need
You".
This also could have been the title.
The second song Had the words "I'am Thinking About You". Again this
also could have been the title. I am not sure when this song was
popular, I would guess probably around the 70's or 80's

Is this the first song?

Every single time I see you I start to feel this way
Makes me wonder if I'm ever going to feel this way again
There's a picture that's hangin in the back of my head
I see it over and over
I want to hold you and love you in my arms and then
I want to need you cause I need to be with you til the end
Then I hear myself reply you've got to hold it in
This time, tonight
If only I had the guts to feel this way
If only you'd look at me and want to stay
If only I'd take you in my arms and say
I won't go cause I need you
I sit here, waiting, wondering, hoping that I'll make this right
Cause all I think about is your hands
Your face and all these lonely nights
There's a feeling that's screaming in the back of my head
Saying over and over
I want to hold you and love you in my arms and then
I want to need you cause I need to be with you til the end
Then I hear myself reply she'll never let you in
This time, tonight
If only I had the guts to feel this way
If only you'd look at me and want to stay
If only I'd take you in my arms and say
I won't go cause I need you
Please don't go cause I need you now
I want to hear you say
It'll always be this way
We will be hand in hand for every night and every day
I want to scream and shout
Cause I'm losing any doubt
And all I care about is you and me and us and now
If only I had the guts to feel this way
If only you'd look at me and want to stay
If only I'd take you in my arms and say
I won't go cause I need you
Please don't go cause I need you now

Could you be more specific regarding the second song? "I'm Thinking
About You" appears in an awful lot of songs. Could it be "I've Been
Thinking About You"?

HI ,
On your question, I believe it was "I've been thinking about you".

I don't believe this is the song, "I want to need you"
When you here the song being played,it contains the lyrics
"I Want to need", I Want to Need You",in a sentence many times in the song.
I know it was very popular in 1982 or 1983

  Hope this helps,

  Thank You,
    tick-ga

This one?

Look around, look up here
Take time to make time, make time to be there
Look around, be a part,
Feel for the winter, but don't have a cold heart

And I love you best, you're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need...
I'm gonna need ... you.

A long time ago I had a lady to love
She made me think of things I never thought of
Now she's gone and I'm on my own
But a love song has come into my mind
A love song, it was there all the time

So lady, let me take a look at you now
You're there on the dance floor making me want you somehow
Oh lady, I think it's only fair I should say to you
"Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, 'cos maybe I do."

Look around, come to me
I have no answers, but know where I wanna be
I look around, play a part
I was born in the winter and cooled by a warm heart

And I love you best, you're not like the rest
You're there when I need you
You're there when I need ...
I'm gonna need ... you.

So lady, let me take a look at you now
You're there, on the dance floor, making me want you somehow
Oh lady, I think it's only fair I should say to you
"Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, 'cos maybe I do,
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, lady I ... do..."

On the second song, "I've been thinking about" by Londonbeat, this is
the one I am looking for.Thank You very much.

To nvwriter-ga
On the first song, you suggest "I need you to need me",I am not sure
if this is the one.Would you have the web address that would pdovide a
sample of the song. Also the song that I am looking for was popular
around the time that "Flash dance","Betty Davis Eyes", and "Lost in
Love" were popular.

Here's a link to a sample of Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me" as
suggested by nvwriter-ga:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004YC1W/qid=1044400171/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/002-3916698-8416014

Scroll down the page a bit to find the music samples.

Hi ericynot-ga,

I played the sample you provided for the song "I Want You to Want
Me"
by Cheap Trick. Unfortunately, I don't believe this is the song I am
looking for. But thank you very much for your effort.

Dear tick-ga;

Since you now have your first song, and it is unclear how this should
be credited, perhaps you can award an adjusted price to whomever
provided the one answer to you. Then repost your question for the
second song. I will address your new question as I believe I have the
answer (and the song for you to listen to).

Regards;

Tick,
For the first song, have you a clue as to the instrumentation used,
whether there's a trumpet or guitar solo, heavy bass or light or heavy
drums, or whether the dominant style is synth, jazz or samba? I'm more
keen on listening to songs for their music rather than lyrics or
voicing, and I think this might help us narrow down our search
possibilities for the song.

Oh yeah, was the singer male or female, and does that singer sound
black, western or british? Anyting you can recall.

Could "I've Been Thinking About You" be the song of the same name by
Londonbeat? It was published in 1991, after the timeframe you were
looking at, but the title is right on. It was #31 in the Billboard
Hot 100 for that year.

Lyrics are here: http://www.lyricsxp.com/lyrics/i/i_ve_been_thinking_about_you_londonbeat.html

And you can listen to a snippet of the song here:
