I work for a Laboratory Information Systems software company, selling
our product to clinics, physician's offices, reference and hospital
laboratories. I have been told that there is a hospital buying group
(hospital chain or even purchasing organization, if you will) that has
a name along the lines of Allegra Health Systems. I have been unable
to locate any information about this particular group to determine if
it does indeed exist and if so, how I could contact the group (i.e.
name of group, website, phone, address, contact info, etc.)

Hello whizdumb and thank you for your question.

Is it possible you are getting mixed up with the "Allegra hospital
information system"? If so the company that produces this healthcare
information system is Intranexus, Inc. http://www.intranexus.com

"IntraNexus has delivered comprehensive consulting services in
conjunction with the ALLEGRA healthcare information system (HIS). Our
high quality, cost effective solutions have positioned us as a leader
in development, implementation and support of the ALLEGRA suite of

Thank you thx1138 for picking up my question and running with it.
Within my own research, I too found this same website but dismissed it
as the solution to my problem. The info I am in need of should be
revolving around buying groups/purchasing organizations/hospital
chains/etc, however I do not know if the exact name is Allegra Health
Systems.
I hope this helps...Unfortunately, I was not given much info and have
passed along all that I know.
Thanks for the help.

Rather than "Allegra," could you possibly be looking for Allegiance
Healthcare Corporation?

"Through its subsidiaries, Allegiance is America’s leading provider of
health-care products and cost-management services needed by hospitals,
laboratories and others in health care. The company manufactures many
of the products it markets, while others come from leading health and
medical companies around the world. We also provide a range of
integrated services such as clinical and productivity consulting,
procedure-based supply packaging, just-in-time delivery and other
services that help medical professionals control costs and improve
quality in patient care."

If Allegiance is the firm you want, I'd be glad to gather more
information about them.

How about AveraPace (www.averapace.com)
Alegent/NPG Health Link
Allegiance Health Care

This is a free directory of all GPO's.

If you just put in the letter "A", you can serach all GPO's that start
with that letter. Maybe one will ring a bell.

I think the answer lies within a combination of all several of the
responses, so I would like to thank all that have helped me with this
matter. Your promptness is greatly appreciated and I will be throwing
in an additional $5.00 as a tip. Great job! whizdumb
