It seems that there are only a few researchers who are familiar with
Adobe PageMaker. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.
Your problem might be caused by the PCT format, high resolution of the
image, or high resolution of your target PDF output file. It may be
possible that the images doesn't show onscreen but will actually
appear when you print the output PDF file.
You can try configuring PageMaker:
1) Go to File > Preferences > General or simply press Ctrl+K
2) Set your Graphics display to High resolution
3) Set your Save option to Smaller
4) Press "More...". The More Preferences dialogue window will appear.
5) Try increasing the standard display size from the default 64
Kilobytes and set "Maximum" for "Memory freed for graphics
Since it's black and white, I also suggest that you convert it to a
more popular format such as BMP or TIF using Photoshop or other
photo-editing software. Before you convert your project to PDF, you
should download this PageMaker update from Adobe.com:
