I wrote a Microsoft Word Macro on a Macintosh, and then copied the Template to a Windows 98 computer running Word 2000. When I try to use the macros on the Windows 98 computer, I get an error message saying that this macro has been inactivated because of my security settings. How can I run the macro? | |

Hi jpalme-ga, I have posted my clarification as an answer below :) You should be able to resolve this by doing either of the following: "To get around the macro security settings, we have a few options. 1) Change the macro security settings. 2) Sign our macro template/document with a digital certificate." http://groups.google.ca/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&threadm=6k8F4.15526%243g5.1753872%40tw11.nn.bcandid.com&rnum=14&prev=/groups%3Fnum%3D50%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26safe%3Doff%26q%3Dword%2Bmacro%2Bsecurity How do you change your macro security settings? 1. Within Word, go to the Tools > Macro > Security 2. By changing the security level to either "medium" or "low", your macros will not be automatically disabled. I have tried your template on my own system, where the macro security level is to medium. I received a prompt telling me that macros exist in this template and asked me if I would like to enable/disable them. I selected enable and the document came up as expected. I am using Word 2002 - there is little distinction between this and Word 2000 as far as macros are concerned. Cheers! answerguru-ga |
