I NEED THE LATEST "NATIONAL GARDENING SURVEY", 2002 OR 2003. Where can
I get my hands on and thus read the latest National Gardening Survey
2002 or 2003 edition? I live in Boulder, Colorado. I need to do
research in this market research publication. If you find it somewhere
other than in Boulder, your answer must include how I can get my hands
on it (inter-libray loan? other method? personal loan of the book?). I
am only interested in a 2002 0r 2003 edition. The publisher of this
research is sometimes quoted as Gallup Poll but they only did the
research that was commissioned by the National Gardening Assocation.
Good luck!

I realize that the publication can be obtained from National Garden
Association for $495, but I can not pay that amount, and the
publication is also out in the public domain -- at various libraries
or botanical gardens. Thus I want to know how I can my hands on the
publication for free.

I also realize that it may be possible to get this through an
interlibrary loan. But the problem I ran into was (a) nobody could
tell me if the librray actually had the 2002 0r 2003 edition and (b)
if they would let it out of their reference section. Thus my request
for someone to tell me how I can actually get a 2002 or 2003 edition
IN MY HANDS for free (well, I would be happy to pay the small costs of
the interlibrary loan fee, if any). (i.e., responses like "this title
probably may only be available through interlibrary loan" or "some
list what years they own, others don't" is not providing me with any
additonal helpful informtion I had not already discovered myself ...
but nice try ... :)

Deepforest,

I believe I have a place for you to go if you can do the research
in the library (not check it out.) I will be able to confirm
this Saturday. Would that satisfy you? cath-ga, Google Answers Researcher

If the 2002 edition or higher is in a library within driving distance
of Boulder CO, I will not only be satisfied, I will be thrilled with
your answer ... and will even throw in a tip.... thanks so much, and I
hope that you can finalize this by Saturday. deepforest-ga

Dear deepforest,

I don't want to get your hopes up, then leave you hanging, so here's
what's been going on. The Boulder Public Library tells me that there
is a copy of the National Gardening Survey at the Denver Botanic
Garden library. They were closed Friday, so I e-mailed them, left
them a phone message, and have been doing the same repeatedly today.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get through to ascertain whether it
is the LATEST version. I will give you the contact info so that you
can continue to try and contact them yourself. I will also e-mail
you if they get back to me soon. However, if you're in a big
hurry with this, if might be worth your while simply to drive
to Denver during their open hours and take a look. They are a
very prestigious library, and I imagine their references are
up to date. They are open to the public.

Yes, I know have known this. As far as I can rsearch it is the 1999
edition. That is why in my initial question I stated that I needed the
latest edition. If you can confirm to me that the botanical library
indeed does have a 2002 edition you will win the answer. But if the
edition is older than 2002 then I am afraid that it will not be
current enough for the research I need to do. Good luck!

The following libraries own the "National Gardening Survey" some list
what years they own, others don't. There don't seem to be any
libraries near your location. This info was found on the WorldCat

To answer the other part of your question, this title probably may
only be available through interlibrary loan. Rules for interlibrary
loan differ sometimes with the library system, check with your home
library.

impossible??? Is there anybody out there that can answer this? Do I
need to increase the price ... or it is just impossible to find one

I might have your answer. I am currently working on a project for my
MBA a CU Denver, and I have been thinking about purchasing the 2002
National Gardening Survey. I live in Broomfield, Colorado. Let me
know if you still in need of this and I might be able to help.

Dear jonezn-ga,

YES! We still need the 2002 edition.

So if you decide to buy it, please let us know, and you just earned
$50 toward the purchase price (assuming you will let us use it for a
few days);)
