I am no asking for legal advice. I just want to know the legal laws
for a story I am working on. It is a novel. Let's say that in 1969
an Asian man lied about his background, making stories about royal
blood, millions of dollars, owning acres of expensive land.
Basically, saying that he and his wife came from aristocracy. The
U.S, gave them an invitation to come to the U.S. Let's say in 1988
someone from the Attorney General's office does a background check on
the family and realize that their parents lied. That the parents came
from poor poor families. However, by this time, the parents through
hard work were worth five million dollars. Let's say in 1999 the
father goes to the school where the Attorney General checked up on the
family. The father tells the truth. He came from poverty and so did
his wife. He basically contradicted what he said in the immigration
application. Is there any way, such as fraud that someone with this
information could possibly get the parents money through some law,
such as discovering the fraud. Is there any law or way that someone
knowing of this lie could benefit monetarily from the exposure? |
