Hi Jaz,

This is fun! BTW, you can't give all of us $2.00 (as you kindly
wished), however, you can choose one of us to officially "answer" your
question. If you post a clarification naming one of the Researchers
below, that person can post the official answer and collect the fee.
You can tell a Researcher by the name being a colored, underlined
clickable link.

Good luck with your list!

Hi, jaz.

We haven't heard from you for a couple of weeks. If any of the
suggestions made in the "Comments" section seem like suitable material
for an answer, you might want to see if someone would like to
officially answer the question by compiling the "entries." Otherwise,
none of the Researchers who have worked on this question will receive
any compensation.

You can tell a Google Answers Researcher from a non-Researcher by
noting whether or not a username is highlighted in blue. A
Researcher's name is highlighted and "clickable" (clicking it takes to
that Researcher's profile, where you can view her/his ratings and
previous questions answered. Non-Researchers' names are not
highlighted, and are not clickable.

Best regards,
pinkfreud

Pinkfreud,

If you may compile the entries for the official answer, it would be
much appreciated :)

This was a fun thread for all of us, I think. We Researchers sometimes
get tired of hitting the Internet with our search engines for hours on
end; it's nice sometimes to just take a trip inside one's head, and I
daresay that's where most of these song titles were found.

Thanks for asking an interesting and enjoyable question.

Best wishes,
pinkfreud

Hey, I have a GREAT suggestion:

Let's wait a while, round 'em up, alphabetize 'em, and let pinkfreud
post the list as an answer since she has contributed the most so far.
I wouldn't mind and I don't think anyone else would either...

Especially since all I have to offer is song titles in Morse Code.

Hall & Oates's "Method of modern love":
 M. E. T. H. O. D. O. F. L. O. V. E.
It's the method of modern love

The Belles's reinterpretation of "Gloria":
 And his name was
 M... E... L... V... I...i...i...
 M. E. L. V. I. N. Melvin

Billy Connolly's version of "D.I.V.O.R.C.E.":
She shouted "get him Rover," and he jumped over, and bit my L.E.G.
She sank her teeth in my B.U.M. and called me an effin C.
Well I'm telling you, that was my cue, to get O.F.F.-ski

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the question, but the customer said
"song titles
that are spelled out." Many of the submissions made in comments are
songs which include spelled-out words in their lyrics, not their
titles.

I agree with you Pink but jaz had "Respect" as an example and it's
only spelled out in the lyrics, not in the title. Plus are covers
included, as we all know the definitive "Respect" singer is Otis
Redding.

And maybe a separate list for number v. letter songs or should they be
scraped entirely? This question has been an absolute riot!

Jaz, we await your feedback. ;-)

I haven't seen this one mentioned: The Cure have a great song called
"Fire in Cairo" where during the interlude they go
"F-I-R-E-I-N-C-A-I-R-O".

Ok some "kid" songs:

The Oscar Mayer Song Bologna Song:
"My bologna has a first name, it's b-o-l-o-g-n-a my bologna has a 2nd
name it's o-s-c-a-r..."

And Lollipop:

"L-O- double L - I, P-0-P spells lollipop, lollipop. It'a very
special kind of candy, candy. The guy who made it must have been a
dandy, dandy. L-O-double L-I, P-O-P spelss lollipop..."

A few more from the metal world:

LOVE Machine - WASP
BAD - WASP
SMF - Twisted Sister
USSA - Indestroy
AFU (Naturally Wired) - Van Halen
FRDC - DRI (The Dirty Rotten Imbeciles)
FOAD - Venom

Given the nature of the lyrics of some of these, I'll decline from
explaining what the initials stand for.

Van Halen also released an album entitled OU812, to which Gang Green
responded by issuing a release called I81B4U.

Hey juggler!

nice work on the H.E.L.P. by Beach Boys. I'm a big fan, but forgot that one.

I'd add to the list these questionable entries (initials as opposed to spelling):

Surfin U.S.A
Born in the USA
Back in the USSR
Surfin USSR (ray stevens)
WKRP In Cincinnati (theme)

and some numbers:
409
In the Year 2525

What a lot of fun!

Somebody should put all these songs into a CD box set!

Maybe that would be a good job for Aaron Spelling. :D
