I am interested in your news service. If you can get anyone in the
Google Company to write a few words about it would really help.
Prefereably someone quite involved with the service but if you know a
little about it feel free to just reply with a few short sentences in
response to the following questions. I will need a name and position
within the company. (I realise you do no work directly for Google, but
if you can get comments from someone who does that would be excellent)
It is for a online journalism assignment, the
comments will be published on the net on the University Homepage.

Im after any comments they/you can give about your own Google News
Service (general public response, your experience with
it etc), questions include:

How do you think these new news services are changing the face of
online news?

What do you think the relevant implications are? Be they ethical,
moral or practical ones.

People have complained that such services cannot effectively
discriminate between articles which are primarily advertisements
andreal news stories and that there have been instances of stories
being
misrepresented in terms of subject matter and importance. Any
comments?

Do you see this service as the way of the future, or is the position
of the online editor secure?

Further, any good references, websites etc which have
information surrounding this topi that you can find would be great.

Cheers,
Ben Jarvis
