Thanks for the clarification request. I've done some more sleuthing
for you.
For the Chevy numbers, I was not able to find any source that listed
more than 4,300 Chevrolet dealers (including those with trucks).
*However*, there are approximately 7,400 *GM* dealers nationwide. This
might be the figure you've heard. Not all GM dealers are considered
Chevy dealers apparently.
