I am aware that many telephone companies will permit you to block a
certain number of telephone numbers but is there a
service/hardware/software that will permit you to block a broader
range of unwanted callers? "Pay Phone", "Out of Area" Area Code XYZ
etc. ?

Thanks.

Hello Cb1930,

Thank you for your question.

This was a challenging search and I finally located one device and one
software product that will enable you to block a wider range of
unwanted telephone calls.

BlockACall Introduces the InTeleScreenerTM, a Revolution in Telephone
Privacy

You can choose to Block by Number, Block by Name, and even Block
Numbers by Area Code.

Blocks anonymous Caller ID designations such as Out of Area,
Unavailable, and Private Caller.

The InTeleScreener™ uses Caller ID to Block and/or Screen all incoming
calls before your telephone ever rings.

Block Mode blocks callers by name or number. You choose from two
options on blocked calls: Do Not Answer Call or Disconnect Call.

Screen Mode allows you to receive calls from your closest friends and
family. Only those numbers in your screen list will be allowed
through, other callers will be blocked from ringing your phone.

Choose who calls you and when they call you by programming the
InTeleScreener™ to automatically Block and Screen your phone calls
during the hours you set in Auto Mode.

Provides the option to Automatically Disconnect blocked callers before
your phone rings. When you block undesired callers with the disconnect
option, they will hear the disconnect tones and the InTeleScreener™
