The lenghy and detailed answer was simple to follow and offered
various options  to attempt the "solution" in a variety of other
equally clear & simple ways. Many useful links, both for my current
question and for future reference.
I want to especially note that the researcher made the entire
"question, clarification, answer" process remarkably friendly, kind
and intuitive. Take these qualities plus the concise and erudite
solution to my question, and I could not think of a better way to find
an answer to any question.

This was SO helpful.  We're going to try to do everything we can to

I notice now that darse is listed as a pronominal verb in the
dictionary. It will take some time to get familiar with this concept.

I'm getting much better with the text, but understand it verbally is

thank you for all the digging. You provided good focus, and in fact,
alerted me to the BSE connection - something that slipped my mind
completely. For all the "inconclusive nature" of any studies on the
dangers of cow by-products in supplements, I will at least steer clear
of European- and Canadian-manufactured supplements for now. I wish i
had posted this question on Google a long time ago - would have spared
myself a lot of time and self-education. Thanks again.

No, I have no known allergies but I'll now take some tests, just in case.

I shall also ask for another swab to be taken and I will hand carry it
to the Lab and supervise the testing myself.
