Along with the answer, were other thoughts about the question with
further resources.  appreciate the comment "TNTC."  Gives me hope I'll
find something as I narrow my search.  (I'm assuming what TNTC is, and
you might loose me with your short hand.)

Thank you for the excellent research on this rare disease. It helped a
lot to explain things to me and hopefully will shed some light on

OMG!  I consider myself pretty computer savvy, and I can often find
information online that my friends cannot.  I spent 2 hrs online
researching my question, and when I couldn't find it, I turned (for
the first time) to Google Answers.  In return, I received more

Because of the proximity of the parotic gland to the facial nerve, I
am apprehensive about surgery.Embolization is used to reduce fibroid
tumors. Do you know if this is possible with the parotic gland tumor
and if anyone is currently using it?

Great answer from 'crabcakes', thank you muchly; however from the
wholistic perspective the 'management' function leaves a little to be
desired, to wit: this whole process took in excess of 5 weeks to reach
a conclusion, this, in my humble opinion was not helped by the vague
and almost unclear instructions given by 'management' when the
question went into the clarification process, including the
instruction to point the question at a particular researcher, which I
did with excellent results...but not knowing the relevant strengths of
the individual researchers - supposedly management does? - then I feel
this is not my responsibility or even my forte...also the fee
structure is a little ambiguous, again IMHO, it is almost impossible
to figure out how much time a researcher will take to address a
particular question from a non researcher/laymans POV...but no doubt I
will return, armed with the knowledge from this first encounter to
fight another day...blissings to 'crabcakes' and all, from the land
down under...Dizzy

Didn't understand the question..

Very thorough, I expected less and was pleasantly surprised.

The answer is very comprehensive, indeed. Thank you. Unfortunately, it
is not what I wanted to hear, since I am having all symptoms of an
acute toxoplasmosis (swollen lymph node(s), fatigue, etc. - no pain
though). As the blood test says it can't be toxo, then what else is
it? I might ask a follow-up question on this forum in a few days, when
the result of the needle biopsy that was done yesterday is awailable.
Things are a bit mysterious, since all other possibilities
(mononucleosis, HIV, Dengue [I live in the tropics], etc.) have also
been ruled out. A strange "virus infection" (as it was - maybe wrongly
- diagnosed then) started things off 9 months ago. Colds, sinusitis,
etc. followed, and I took all this as separate incidents, until the
swollen lymph node now makes me wonder if all of this could be one
single incident... Thanks again for a good overview!
