I may end up adding another star but I have yet to do my own follow up
research.  Seems very well researched and all very inticing
information and seems quite thorough.   I am asking for a bit further
information about how they arrived at their criteria, but I am very,
very grateful... I am now set on my way to further digging ... Will
look forward to the next question.  with many, many thanks...

Positives:

- telling me how you did the research and which resources you used
very good.
- links to reviews very useful and much appreciated
- quality and conistency very good.

Negatives:
- would have liked the product overview in text as part of the
response as opposed to a link. One paragraph summary would have been
good.
- would be useful to know the price-range bands you used for 'high
end', 'mid tier' and 'free-inexpensive'

Follow up:
- I would like the criteria of evaluation posted as a clarification
please. This helps me know 'what to look for'.

Overall I was very impressed. Certainly enough that I shall shortly be
posting more questions.

Although the original answer supplied was interesting, it lacked
factual basis, relying largely instead on the user's experience, which
was not quantified.  The clarification posted yielded more in-depth
background, but still did not address the potential value of the more
mainstream sites such as travelocity, hotels.com, etc. except to the
extent that the researcher indicated that a wholesale rate would be
required.

Excellent and comprehensive answer. Very useful.

This researcher tried to find information on an artist to which there
is little public information on to begin with.  He made about 4
attempts and although he was unable to find certain pieces of the
puzzle I was loooking for, he did a great job.  I figured there would
be a good possibility I wouldn't get all the info. I was looking for,
but this researcher found just about whatever was available on the
net.  He did a great job despite the fact that there was a lack of
information to be found, and he replied to all my inquiries very
quickly.  Good job, thanks again for trying.

probonopublico---I agree completely.  In the past, we've recruited
foreign students from the UC-Berkeley certificate program. 
Interestingly enough, their biggest advantage is not that wages are
lower, but rather that they don't have the
"you-owe-me-and-when-is-coffee-break" attitude of many American young

I found the answer to be slightly less than "ok".

The writer was exceptionally polite and careful with the response. 
Also, very quick and responsive with follow-ups.  All good attributes.

Needs work:  The writer was a bit verbose, including many things that
I did not ask for (DVD to CD, the legal issues, player software, and
DVD ROM recommendations).  One of the links was to a short overview,
with no new information.  Another link to DVDXCOPY was to DVDCOPYPlus
-- ok, as both are made by the same company.  Also, a teensie bit
annoying were the many references to whether or not I was following or
understood, or was confused, etc.

For my part, I wrote a lousy question.  I should have been more clear,
should have mentioned that I have good systems (hardware and software)
comprehension, and should have clearly stated no interest in DVD to
CD.  Last, I failed to include my question re DVD formats.

On my own, I found a great web site www.doom9.org that speaks entirely
to the subject of burning DVD's and provides several, hands-on
examples.

In sum, although very nice, I felt the writer had problems being brief
and getting to the point.  I do not think the answer was worth $15.00,
especially since I found exactly what I was looking for on my own.
