Excellent work, if Harvard doesn't know the exact date either, I don't
feel as bad. Thank you for the additional information regarding sales
of this book.

I am overwhenmed by the completeness of the response...answer given
both conceptually and mathemetically. I was also pleased with the
speed and amused that the researcher picked up in context ...and used
in the answer...that I am a Red Sox fan!  Many thanks, Juggler.

excellent!  not only did the researcher answer the questions clearly
and concisely, but but also provided contextual information _and_ a
followup comment.  The researcher also mentioned a popular corollary
to my question (regarding aspartame), but was not distracted into
answering the wrong question.

Nice work. I do beg to differ, however, with your comment that
'obviously' Twain didn't write variations of the comment. It isn't
quite obvious to me; this is just what academics do all the time. But
since the 'accurate' quote is the one traceable (online) to a Twain
text, I'll use that one. And thanks again.

This is an *OUTSTANDING* answer!!!  I should note, by the way, that i
received =NO= confirmation from google after i submitted the question
... and =NO= alert that the answer had been given. in fact, i was
getting annoyed at what i thought was "no response". (perhaps the
researcher can pass on the feedback to google.) but i came on just in
case, and found a thoughtful, clear, helpful answer that gives me a
lot of confidence in passing it on to my firiend.  THANK YOU
