efn-ga answered my question about parsing IE bookmarks and going
beyond the first 2 levels of bookmarks.  He actually re-wrote my
Python code from scratch, and the result is that the program is now
more elegant, clear and concise.

I think that Google Answers is by far the Internets most innovative
method for obtaining factual information. I have been lurking here for
months without asking a question and I just can't get enough. Thanks
to efn-ga for the answer and to geniusx-ga for the comment, both will
help me (and maybe others) understand more than just making hardware
and software work - and that's my two cents (uh..ten bucks)

Incredible in timeliness of answer!  Superb answer.  Helped immensely
with my portfolio I had to whip out to look for a new job.

At times the old solutions work as well as the new ones.  Combining
"search and replace" in a word processor along with batch file
techniques has proven extremely easy.

(Incidentally, my comment about ..\ should have been .\ to refer to
the present directory.  I am giving only 4 stars because you missed it
also.  I, to be honest, did not notice it until I tried it and
wondered where my file had gone.)

And a comment to a couple of the commenters.  I stated that the files
were in absolutely no order, so I would have had to click while
watching a list, which lends itself to all sorts of errors.  But
thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks efn, your attention most appreciated. Meeting up with a
colleague of mine next week who doubles as my guitar tutor (although
