Still working on the problem here, but the software you pointed me to
(DVFilm Atlantis) helped me by dumping all the frames to .BMP files
and a .WAV file. It did so without any damaged looking frames.

I'll use a paint program that I have that has scripting capability to
resize frames (not stretch, but instead, add the black bars at the top
and bottom). Then I'll use Premiere to play the 25 fps video at 30 fps
(causes every 6th frame to be show twice). That should work. The main
problem I was having was the audio skipping and every 60th frame
looking damaged.

allowing all the ports through due to one of the left over lines.. My

This is very helpful and exactly what I needed.  I also appreciate the
comment from tutuzdad-ga which was very encouraging.  I live out in
the boonies where DSL and cable won't be available for at least 100
years but I have a clear (very!!!) view of the southern sky so I think

Thanks for the answer - useful info. The reason for the 3 stars (As
opposed to higher) is that I think your answer on the Powershot could
have been better. I used your Google search string and replaced 'ipaq'
with 'canon s30' and found several threads about the way in which
Canon batteries self discharge - which suggests that the camera is
fine, and it's an inevitable consequence of the type of batteries
Canon uses to power the camera.

I am surprised you didn't find these threads!

Thank you for your answer. I get frustrated looking for this answer
because I am convinced that there should be a standard for this common
type of data modeling. I'm glad to know there isn't something obvious
that I've missed.

I was able to get the case apart with the help of the information
provided. I dissasembled cleaned and reassembed the print heads, and
unfortunately it worked exactly as it had before. I'll canibalize the
stepper motors and junk the rest. It was educational.

For anyone else who wants to get inside an Epson Stylus PRO, don't
peel the membrane off the control panel, just prize the whole panel
panel upward.

This was an extremely helpful answer. After I told the copy company
what you had found, they said that they gave me the wrong part number,
that they could get that part and that I didn't need a new machine.
