Hummer, you're a genius and thanks to Linley Wallis too for finding
the poem. Yes, I will sleep nights now that you found my favourite
poem. With a group of my friends I have enjoyed an annual fishing trip
for 30 years. This year we have chosen to recite a poem and as you
would correctly guess mine is to be Rum and Water by Thomas Edward
Spencer, for these learned fishermen all know Dennis, Paterson and

thanks for the quick reply.  i don't think the battery is the problem,
it seems to turn over until the cows come home. i will try new plugs
and wires, and perhaps a distributor cap (ugh $$$).  the lightbulb
idea is great, i will try that next winter. i was actually toying with
the idea of lighting a small fire under the van!

Dear Hummer,

Thanks for the very good answer. I still have not reviewed all of the
math which is why I am late with this rating. I do like the idea of
the pendulum, which I will try to mock up in my swimming pool first. 
I do appreciate going beyond just a google search and doing the math
also. Great response, and hopefully you will help me out with some
questions in the future, although I do not have a follow up question
as yet.
