What a great resource!  I really appreciate the depth of the answer,
and the excellent links.  Nice work.

Actually I have just been questioning some of the things I "waste" my
time on, and so I wanted to know what I should, what we should all use
our time for.  I like the learning answer, and spending it with loved
ones.  Those are important to me, and likely to others.  I guess I
don't want to wake up in 50 years and have regrets.  On the same
token, I don't want to starve tomorrow because I quit my job to take a
class in philosophy.  Thanks for letting me torture you.

Dear sgtcory, you have clarified my thinking with your extremely well
thought out answer. I visited some of the sites you mentioned and
found the ones relating to mastering the most interesting, even if the
deliverable for this project is an audio CD (implying that mastering
has already been completed). I am going to use the audio files that
are the most pure, eschewing the temptation to compress or add
reverberation. I'm also going to learn to spell Juilliard (that pesky
first "i" slips by me most times). Again, thank you very much.
