I debated between giving Richard-ga 4 or 5 stars because it took a few iterations to get to the answer, but he did get me the right answer and his attitude/initiative through the questions he asked was very helpful, so in the end I gave him five. Had it taken a few less iterations I would have left a tip also. |

Probability Distribution on Four-Machine Network
Category: Science > Math Rating and comments by: nobleicer-ga |
Sorry, but your answer seems incorrect to me. (I have meanwhile figured out the answer myself and have tried to cancel this question.) The probability of ABCD is the probability of A times the probability of B given A times the probability of C given A,B times the probability of D given A,B,C. But the probability of C given A must be the same as the probability of C given A and B, because C is affected only by A. So ABCD is .27. You appear to have just assumed independence and calculated P(ABCD) as the product of P(A), P(B), P(C), P(D). Thanks anyway. If there is a way to tip you for trying, let me know! |

Examples of profit/loss/distribution on LLC interest & capital (for Richard)
Category: Business and Money > Small Businesses Rating and comments by: sbalmos-ga |
Thanks again for clarifying pure language with concrete numbers for an engineer gone businessperson. :) FYI, for the clarification point one, I've already got an idea on how to handle "buybacks", depending on whether it's another member buying them out, or the partnership/LLC. Also, for the second note, the IRS does seem to make a suggestion about $0-basis partners. See your referenced document, page 7, under Limits on Losses. |
