Thanks for the reply - always nice to have definitive answers.
On a final note - taking what you know of my site and how it is
currently indexed (or soon to be indexed), is it worth paying for
inclusion in inktomi or fast or should I just concentrate on keeping
the site updated, work on getting quality links, and let the crawlers
do their job.

thank you, robertSkelton.  Although my desire to determine clicks per
rank goes unrequited, I now understand how page ranking works.  I'm
sure there is, in fact, a correlation between page hits and ranks. 
But it is lower than 1 and is the effect of links, not the result of
the calculation.

Excellent and entertaining. In a matter of years, our Granny will be
on these lists too. I'm going to do some research to find out the
quality of life these super Grannies have. Ours, is bed-ridden with a
feeding tube, but she's kicking, (in the manner that older legs do
