elevated CO2 and humans

Hypercapnia effects (that is direct effects of atmospheric CO2 on our blood concentrations) are absolutely irrelevant to increasing atmospheric CO2, because atmospheric CO2 levels are too low for that to happen. However, your answer suggests that elevated CO2 can affect our nutrition because it directly changes plant quality and this change is not related to global warming. Indeed, our health can significantly be altered if crop quality changes globally under elevated CO2. Your answer suggests that aside from climate change, what we should be aware of is coming changes in plant quality worldwide. I puzzled by you repeatedly citing the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide - they are known to be pro-CO2 and advocate against any reduction in CO2 emissions. I am sure there are other scientific sources that speak about such changes. In any case, thank you for your help. |

I am very much impress with this feature at Google.com. I didn't realize you had it until 4 days ago and I never thought it would be this real. I am your ambassador now. The researcher's answer was excellent. I had solved the problem to the decomposition. I have a better understanding now. Thanks. |

Should we now re-consider DC power distribution, as opposed to AC?
Category: Science > Technology Rating and comments by: probonopublico-ga |
Hi Shiv & Bobby Good to hear from you both again. Thank you for your very full and very informative answer. I suppose therefore that, for once, Edison got it wrong and this is evidenced by the world-wide selection of AC. With regard to Bobby's comment, I recall that safety was an issue when Edison and Tesla were arguing the toss and that, when Edison designed the first electric chair, he opted for AC because he argued (contra to Bobby's understanding) that it was actually more dangerous. Also, someone (I'm not sure who) performed the public electrocution of an elephant that was past its shelf life at the zoo. (I think the execution took place at Coney Island.) Fascinating stuff! Thanks again. Kindest regards Bryan |

AC Power Supply: 50 Hz or 60 Hz?
Category: Science Rating and comments by: probonopublico-ga |
Hi, Shiv & Neil My thanks to you both for your answer & comment: I was unaware of the matters that you have raised. With reference to India, I recall one visit to Bombay when the city had no electricity. I was told that they used a coal-fired generator but that they had run out of coal. Unfortunately, they couldn't get coal to the power station for a time because it was usually brought in by rail, along an electrified line. Kindest regards Bryan |
