Springfield Public Schools - Easy Part
Category: Reference, Education and News > Education Rating and comments by: nickayune-ga |
Complete answer; seemed to take a while. One item was "not public information," but I'm not sure if that necessarily means that it is not information that cannot be obtained. Could a telephone call have been made? But I don't know if the researchers are confined to using the Web to answer questions. |

I would like to have further clariication as I think that we are miscommunicating on what I wanted from my question. If that is not possible I will ask anothr question and request the person who answered my first one. That is why the rating is a 4 instead of a 5. |

Child custody in Texas
Category: Miscellaneous Rating and comments by: cvenom-ga |
Excellent answer! It sounds like the kids can't make the decision on their own, but grandma can do so if she wants to persue it. That was pretty much what I expected, but it would be interesting to see how the courts rule on similar cases. Thanks, I'll be posting another question for you soon. |

English faculty list in 1950 at Harvard
Category: Reference, Education and News > Education Rating and comments by: sherblau-ga |
I'm pretty sure that the answer is still incomplete, but it's adequate for my purposes. I think the names of Theodore Spenser, Kenneth Murdock, Chas McIlwain & James Munn probably belong on the list. But I very much appreciate getting the 10 names supplied, when I could have guessed at only three of them. myself. |

The answer I received, was correct and prompt (my $5 question was answered in couple of hours). I like the fact that I was interacting with a live person. (I guess, it being GOOGLE, I expected to interact with a computer and receive "automated" replys). I highly recomend this service! |

How likely would a Taser set off a bomb on a suicide bomber ?
Category: Science Rating and comments by: joey123455555-ga |
Good answer. I think it shows that training police to shot tasers at a suspect's face is a viable option when a sucicide bomber is a suspect. Its certainly better than the risk of killing an innocent person. |

Cheap at the price; I probably would have paid a shrink five times as much to get to the same answer (as it were). No guarantees that our relationship will work, but I'm willing to put some more effort into it first. |

Horror movie, viewed in the 90's
Category: Arts and Entertainment > Movies and Film Rating and comments by: kenderfox-ga |
Bingo! Holy crap, ive been looking in the wrong place for 8 years. I feel foolish for lookking in the wrong section for this movie, its been plaguing me since the late 90's as to what the movie was, at one point i recall searching to find Jack Nicholson's creations and a fiew other actors that in my mind would have been able to place the "old man" in this movie. 5 stars and a tip for the haste you were able to make on such a vague discription. Thank you so much. |

Question answered what would have taken me a couple of days if not weeks to find specific information to, in a matter of hours. I thank the researcher for being so throughough. However the researcher might have interpreted my question a little wrongly, in thinking I was looking for a way to "scam the system". But their answer was great. Jessica, Michigan. |

You may want to add this source to your records: "April 17, 1863 - This day we had something new, if I don't care what I say, Battalion Drill. This afternoon our Division General,Sheridan, was presented with a beautiful sword, saddle and pistols. I was up to see it. Weather clear.". (Unpublished diary of Edward Leroy Tabler, pvt. Co.K, 51st Illinois Inf. Vol., transcribed by William Edward Henry.) |

Horses and Toxic Plants
Category: Reference, Education and News > General Reference Rating and comments by: paxvobiscum-ga |
tutuzdad - thanks. I get from reading all the links, that ASSUMING that horses in close proximity to the Carpathian are all right, is unwise, especially due to the spread of the root systems possibly affecting nearby growth, and to the fact that the horses can't be protected at all from possible effects of pollen drift. The gorgeous trees must go. However, references to rotting root systems after trees cut down, may not hold water either. Lost a mature tree to mini-tornado, then it regrew from old root system. Horses ate leaves of new growth, killed the young tree, and now it is AGAIN regrowing. Another VERY mature tree, had no leaves for two seasons (late frost problem). That same tree this year, put out about 1/3 of full set of leaves. They basically refuse to die, probably BECAUSE of the extent of the root systems. May have rather large problem trying to eradicate. You folks knocked me off the fence on this one. Had hoped could let trees live. Am buying field guide you folks suggested, as well. Say hi to "tutu" for me. I am most impressed with the help I got from you, and the helpful "commenters" on Google Answer. Will definitely use this service again. |

Another burning question?
Category: Relationships and Society > Law Rating and comments by: mongolia-ga |
Many thanks for the update. Your answer has actually corrected a strong misconception I had , where I had assumed it was simply a criminal act to burn the Stars and Stripes (in the US). It looks like the US law in this matter is far more liberal than many European countries. I also find it VERY INTERESTING (site supplied by both PinkFreud and Secret901 that it is an offense in Norway and Japan to burn a foreign flag but ok to burn their own flags) . Mongolia |
