Flicking Bottlecaps into a Dead-Box
Category: Sports and Recreation > Games Rating and comments by: stuckfly-ga |
I'd give you 5 stars for all the information about the game, but I asked mainly about the cap launching trick. You did answer; it's just I was hoping for a step-by-step closeup pictorial by a seasoned launcher of bottlecaps the show-offy way (as you rightfully put it). Once I read your wording about dropping the arm I got a memory dump from my brain, which suffers from Alzheimer's or something...memories get fogged and mixed up pretty badly. First, my dad is alive, my wife corrected me on that. Second, it was my brother who fired caps at me. Third, it wasn't for playing scully or any other game (no idea how I knew about the game). Fourth: I got a clear memory of him firing one across a street at a dog. He didn't just drop his forearm; he whipped his arm from elbow to fingers, like whippersnapping a towel, and snapped his fingers at the end of the whipping action. The effect was impressive, but it'll take a lot of practice (and ice for the elbow!) Anyway, I tried your steps and got much better results. Then I tried snapping my arm and got a clumsy but powerful result, and nearly threw my shoulder out. Guess I'm satisfied! If not for your answer I'd never have recalled that... Many thanks with a small tip. ...btw, Tad is cute :-) |

Slope of a block in Nob Hill, San Francisco, CA
Category: Miscellaneous Rating and comments by: rbnn-ga |
Very helpful and researcher found a great source. I would have preferred a bit more detail on the research process (the name of person spoken to; the time and duration of call) as well as a bit more on variability or lack thereof of the slope throughout the extent in question. Also great comments. |

Category: Family and Home Rating and comments by: calcrox-ga |
This is a very well-organized and high-quality response, but not too overwhelming either in terms of information. The sites are very easy to use and great for kids! I just couldn't find them -- how much time did it take you to find these? My son will enjoy this a lot -- here is a your tip, as promised for a great answer. |

Thank you tutuzdad! There are a lot of books in the lists you have directed me, so hopefully I will find something my son would be interested in reading. It looks like you put a lot of effort into this search, how long did it take to find all these lists?--again, thank you very much :) |

Police procedural question - many gunfights, but still on the force?
Category: Relationships and Society > Law Rating and comments by: pcventures-ga |
Thank You - your answer was exactly the sort of stuff I was looking for. I suppose it goes without saying that police shows take a LOT of liberty with how things really happen in the world of law enforcement, but I still had to hear some clear information on exactly how off-base the "gunfight" aspect is. I was only twelve when Miami Vice premiered and right away I sensed that Crockett and Tubbs' propensity for once-a-week gunfights would raise eyebrows at the very lest, and lead to suspension/firing at worst. Thanks again for your patient, detailed answer! |
