I will say this answer fits well with what I was looking for.  The
answer was clear and when I expressed the contents with the party I

I think the question could have been handled more productively and
that an answer could have been given that taught me a little more; but
I am willing to share the responsibility with the researcher for a
question that might have taken a bit of a stretch that not everyone
might be prepared to make.  The researcher's own assumptions,
including entirely unfounded assumptions about me (for instance, "Your
list is also more likely to contain more people from
the 20th century"), seem to have got in the way of an enlightening
response.

i was a little dissapointed in the answer i received.  given the
search terms used, i felt the search was not very thorough.  in fact,
i felt that the comment by xemion-ga was at least more complete than
my official answer.  however, perhaps i should have been more clear as
to what i wanted and offered more money to do the kind of search i was
hoping for.

he went through a lot of effort but the end result is a link to new
balance. all his other links are irrelevant - either generic shoe
sites (fleetfeet, ecco) that i can find on my own, or to places with
large sizes but not running shoes, which are also easy to find. maybe
the only answer was to point me to the new balance site, but that took
a clarification and a lot of extraneous stuff. i don't feel confident
that this person is an "expert" on the subject, and i guess that's
what i was expecting. i feel like i spent more time on my question
than he/she did on his answer. no hard feelings though.
