I feel the answer is one that is highly intelligent, from experience
with family law.  I passes on the info today to the family for their
own thoughts on it as it is such a personal decision for this younf
man to make.  But your answer spoke the need to act swiftly if that is

yes thanks expertlaw, that was  quite enough to get a more sound
understanding of current situation especially with the state by state
list added.  Cant see how I could not rate an expert in law and a
lawyer to boot anything other than five stars, and with smaller fee
offered in mind as well. I bet you get to do all the law related
questions, and hoping you are not a divorcee.

than that you have given me some peace of mind. Divorce is an ordeal,
punctuated by overwhelming feelings of helplessness and mistrust. The
one thing I needed all through this miserable process was someone to
turn to ask "..Hey, is this right, should this be happening?..someone
truly neutral who could tell me the way it is and offer prudent,
knowledgable advice. I don't want to lose my son, my home, or my
financial security because of 5 words "..I don't love you any-
more..." Now at least a I have the one thing I didn't have, ..a way to
seek some unbiased, authoritative counsel.

Did great work supporting positions and stayed with me as I requested
clarifications.

Willing to follow-up on intial answer so became a really helpful
answer which I can use.

Thank you for your prompt reply.  We have the cross reference at our
local law library and local college, both in hard copy, so your answer
was very benefical for me.  It was night time and I was at home doing
some legal research Thanks! :)

Sorry about the delay in rating this answer/providing feedback.  At
any rate, I wanted to share with you that my court date was today
(12/5), and I did end up hiring an attorney (for about $1700 flat
fee).  Well, it paid off afterall as the charge is going to be reduced
to an infraction.  I'm not privy to any more details, since the new
court date will be in 2-3 weeks, but it's exactly what I wanted!

My only suggestion on your answer would have specific information
(other than an FAQ link) about how long this type of charge persists
on a driver's record in CA/IL.  Great info other than that!  Thanks
again and best of luck to anyone else who finds themselves in this
predicament.  I would recommend finding an attorney very close to
where the trial is set and one who has experience working with the
DA...it's all about the DA just making the call.

I got more information than I ever would have believed possible! It
was worth every penny.It was a walk
 down memory lane for me too, and I thank you for sharing it. I never
knew google had this service;
I just happened to stumble upon it, and I'm so glad I did!
