ANSWER ok BUT A BIT GENERAL, WOULD HAVE LIKED MORE QUOTES WITHIN THE
TEXT. HOWEVER I AM HAPPY ENOUGH WITH THE ANSWER AND TIME RESTRAINTS
PROHIBIT ANY FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE

Concise, clear, and in-depth instructions. As I already have a Yahoo
acount, that part was easy. Signed up for Geocities OK. Then, as I
continued wading through the procedures--  I came to a caveat that
said:  "will only work on Windows and some Macs."  Wouldn't work on my
Mac..as apparently, I don't have the correct operating system. Seems
it's a Windows world out there. leapinglizard-ga did a competent job.
Unfortunately, it's information that isn't very helpful until I opt
for a PC, I guess. As I'm in the graphic arts field--gotta' stick with
Mac. So a PC isn't on my horizon anytime soon.

committed.  My home was hit by a tornado resulting from hurricane

Interesting.  I hadn't thought of using a listsrv app as the solution.
 Nice call.  Do you know of any ASP based equivalents?  We're an MS
shop.

wow.... amazing.. looked everywhere for this answer.... within 12 hrs,
3 months of pain is gone..

Leapinglizard knows his Java!  To anyone looking for a Java coder,
Leapinglizard is the one!  He spent quite a bit of time working on my
original code, and improving it to the point of it being a complete
re-write.  He gets 5 stars for his excellent comments, 5 stars for his
Java coding, and 5 stars for his overall expertise.

The spider works, and works exceptionally well.  I've reviewed
probably close to 20 different spider applications paid and open
source and the one I originally developed, which he took and re-wrote
is in fact the best.  It is easy to see exactly what it is doing, and
it is easy to adjust it for personal circumstances.  And, most
importantly, it is FAST.  9 urls per second with the original threaded
version, and much faster with the final revision.

This is an industrial strength spider application.  It is begging to
be made into a parallel / RMI application.
