Hey Omni!
I'm finally back in the saddle here, probably with a few less brains
cells because of our problem with paint fumes in the house. (I hope
they weren't cells from the frontal lobes!)
Thanks for your contribution here; it's a good start, and a very
interesting conclusion, one that every good campaign manager
understands innately. It's quite a trick though, to appeal to people's
emotions AND their sense of integrity . . . and it seems to me that an
election in times like these is a kind of litmus test of the national
psyche. I wish we had a way of gauging many more complex indices (. .
. way beyond I.Q.) of our society as a whole, but that seems to be
beyond the scope of humans because our emotional drivers are so in
control!
Speaking of drivers, if it were an option, I would choose to walk over
either driving or flying!
Anyway, thanks for your contribution and I think the conversation will
continue . . . below . . .
five cheers!

This answer didn't answer my question, but in fact clarified it in a
way showing that it would very difficult to answer. It was an
educational answer, but didn't attempt to give a numerical answer.
That would be pretty hard - but isn't that right up Google's alley?

Great, Omni ...

And very many thanks for the further reading.

You certainly made it look VERY easy but Gottverdammich - without
checking -I had convinced myself that one of our esteemed German
colleagues would have been needed to suss this one out.

So often when I search for German words and phrases I get tons of
references in German. Surely, it's not asking too much for complete
standardisation throughout the word? Gottverdammich this is 2004.

My thanks also to the Great Answerfinder ... I shall certainly check out The Times.

I find it very painful to scrutinise The Times of yesteryear because
of the prices then and the price today. And THEN The Times was
choc-a-bloc with interesting stuff but now?

All the Best to you Both

Bryan

VERY HELPFUL...HOWEVER I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT IN DOUBLE CHECKING SOME OF THE

THE PERCENTAGES WERE WAY OFF...FOR EQUIX(ACTUALLY RETURNED ONLY ABOUT 500%....

AND RATE(ACTUALLY RETURNED ONLY ABOUT 200%)..ANDF A FEW OTHERS....

HOWEVER IN SPITE OF THAT MOST OF THEM WERE CORRECT..AND THE INFORMATION

IS ESTREMELY USEFUL FOR ME...I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK....

omnivorous----top-flight answer! Exactly what I needed.

Separately, your mention of Washington brought to mind a story from 15
years ago. I flew into Yakima, Washington. The guy who ran the local
flying service/gas-up was 80+ years old. He showed me an original
flight "permit" signed by Orville Wright himself. It was license
number 42...as in less than 50 pilots in the country. If you ever get
to Yakima, look him up. There's only one like him.

Thanks again for the great info!
