Thanks for taking the time to look into it. No reason not to give 5 stars :) The way things are going, *we* may be the first people to find the answer to this question - it's just going to take a lot more hardware. |

Accessing workplace Outlook from home
Category: Computers Rating and comments by: nyura6-ga |
celebrate-ga, thank you very much for the awesome information. I checked both methods and both worked (our "receive" and "store" Exchange servers are the same). I forgot about my question for a while because I now access using a different method -- XP's Remote Desktop. So I now do run Outlook at work. From home. Thanks for the help. Though I wonder if it would be possible to find this on Google. This was the first time I couldn't ask it the right question. nyura |

Wireless internet connection sharing
Category: Computers Rating and comments by: michael2-ga |
I've got round to this at long last. After a couple of hours' work (it never goes as you expect!), the instructions on the site you mentioned have got things going properly now, and with "Obtain IP address automatically" set on the laptop. I think something was wrong with the way ICS was set up on the 98 machine initially. Even now, the network is pretty unstable, and sometimes I need to get the XP machine to 'repair' the connection, but as I understand it that's par for the course when using ICS via Windows 98SE, and I can live with that. Thanks for all your help on this. |

Exchange Server 2000
Category: Computers > Software Rating and comments by: attrabeutz-ga |
Very good answer. Tested it and everything seemed to work just fine. Checked the logs and saw that it was receiving mail from the test site. Tried to email from the backup.com domain to the main.com domain and received this error... The following recipient(s) could not be reached: 'tom@main.com' on 1/18/2003 9:44 PM A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator. <server.backup.com #5.3.5> but I can live with that. Thank You |

Connecting Windows XP Home and Mac OSX Jaguar together via an ethernet switch
Category: Computers > Hardware Rating and comments by: filterdude-ga |
Suddenly the Mac's been able to connect to the net, with WinXP dialling up as the Mac requires internet access. Everything's now working fine - I'm not sure why it wasn't before, as we haven't changed anything... that's networking for you though. ;) Thanks for your help in setting this up for me - the instructions were extremely clear and your clarifications very timely. |
