Excellent research - Found exactly the information for which I was seeking, and even further clarified for me, the question which I was groping to ask! FJ mentioned it was like seeking something, but not knowing the language of that being sought. Markj assisted with understanding that language as well as providing the precise answer. Great experience for me! |

As a half-Norwegian (dad's parents came from Norway), "Yorgey Yorgesson" has always been one of my favorites. And a few years ago, Orion Samuelsen from WGN radio in Chicago (who always does the farm reports with great dignity) recorded some of Yorgey's songs, including my all-time favorite, "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas". |

Song Title - likely popular in 1930s or1940s
Category: Arts and Entertainment > Music Rating and comments by: rrun-ga |
I am thrilled with this correct answer and the detail included. My father died last month at 92 years old, and this is a piece he played on the piano throughout his life. We never thought to ask about the piece or title until after he was gone and then realized it was a significant part of our family experince. Thanks hugely! rrun |

Category: Reference, Education and News Rating and comments by: bkft-ga |
Thanks very much for the fast and detailed answer, well organized, with supporting material. I asked an obscure question, and got a relevant answer. In the ideal world I would have liked to see some of the original source material, but as the researcher indicated, that is probably not available online. Good job. |

Words of an old song.
Category: Arts and Entertainment > Music Rating and comments by: skinnamarink-ga |
Brilliant use of the Internet and your own logic. You couldn't have come closer to providing me with the actual words without actually paying the British Library's (exorbitant) fee and waiting 25 or so days for them to send a copy. Now that you've given me the correct title and author I can check e-Bay and record stores for the actual record. Again BRILLIANT. Thank you very much. |
