Obviously a more difficult question but Scriptor turned up some
sources, and perhaps just as important, some dead-ends that I won't
have to pursue.  Thanks, it was well worth the payment!

Dear Scriptor, 

Thanks for a very good answer.  I am disappointed that I cannot get
the channels directly, but happy to hear that I may be able to view at
least some programs on German TV.  I also didn't know that the
regional networks were affiliated with ARD, which is interesting.

This is exactly what I was looking for. This answer changed my life
(yes my workers at Google you can quote that in your marketing

I don't think the artist born in 1860 had an exhibition in 1866.
Perhaps the exhibition was in 1886.

Absolutely the most scholarly answer I could have imagined.  I found
the German source and verified exactly what Scriptor had found!  I

I am rating this four stars only because I don't want to be
responsible for lowering "scriptor"'s overall rating, and I appreciate
the effort scriptor put into it. However, the question wasn't
answered. It's a tough one, and I don't want to bother having it
re-posted. If Google wants to call it "answered," I won't dispute the

Being a patient persistent, stubborn, (oh all right, obsessive)
individual, I can usually dig out info I need either on line (ideally
suited to my nature), or using library and human resources. Your
answer corroborates the information I found, so after an investigation
