Digs aka Ugmek

I am overwhelmed!

And all those great Comments, as a bonus!

I've never come across Ron_Maniac before but I did love his blonde
joke (Sorry Steph), and all the others.

Digs, Please remind me to take you along with me on my next
archeological expedition. As yet, I am not sure where to go because I
guess that most places have already been archeologised.

All the Very Best, to Everyone.

Hello Digs, looks like you scored a whole in one again; and good to
hear from you again also. Are not you up a little late today, or is it
early?? I should have thought of NG I suppose. It is clearly what I
am after.
Not out to many restauants of late with workload I have but did just
visit new one just opened up almost directly across the street and
only a minutes walk away being Melbourne's first and only Colombian
restuarant, somewhat of an oddity in supposedly one of the worlds
great restauarnt cities with around 3000 representing every corner of
the globe in the metropolitan confines of a city of 4,000,000 I would
hazard a guess you have not been to a Colombian cafe before?? Coffee
is great and they serve bananas fried as part of main meal. I also
note, as a mere aside, that Colombian women are easy on the eye.

Thank you very much. I'm always hoping to turn waste into something
good, but I'm beginning to see how important the Cradle to Cradle
design concept is. If we want to do that, it has to be designed that
way to start with. Thanks again.

Thanks Digsalot

Sorry its been so long, but I dont have much time to peruse. I do
agree with you in the fact that there is not much information about
the time frame I am interested in.

Maybe I should try on the old kingdom then and away from pre-dynastic.
But ther is so much out there when it gets to this period that it gets
a little mindnumbing sifting through the rubbish.

As for Mikey, I know Mikey very well (online), and have chatted to him
for about 4 years. My website is in his links and he is a moderator
on my yahoo group history-r-us. He's a good guy that is nobodys fool,
extremely talented and underated.

Have you got any good links for me for Old Kingdom sites that I could look at?

Thanks

This has answered all my questions. The researcher even emailed me
asking for more information ao that he/she could better answer my
question.
My question was a complicated legal one which was very hard for me
to find a clear answer too. Plus the answers I did find were in legal
terms & were hard for me to understand.
This researcher not only found the answers...but also explained them
in a way that anyone could understand.
This was my first experience with Google Answers. It won't be my
last. I highly recommend this service. Thank You So Very Much!!

Fabulous, most excellent.

I sincerly appologize for my "americanizing" of the name of the Maya
Civilization. That was indeed an entirely unknow fact, and I
appreciate how it will save me from looking dumb in the future.

I had originally intended to ask this as a two-part question, the
second part being, essentailly, "Why didn't the Maya use the wheel for
transportation?". By giving a comprehensive answer you anticipated
that question and provided a wonderful link (to The Straight Dope).
My tip includes the $15.50 I intended to pay for that question and the
$20 ($10/question) I allotted as a tip for a great answer. You
deserve it, if not more.

FYI: The article I reference was, unfortunitely, not about Maya
history and culture. The author used the sentence to create an
analogy in claiming the superiority of his ideas over another. The
facts didn't quite click with me and I am glad you were so grateful as
to explain them in such wonderful detail.

Good luck with your semi-retired disease, I know some people with it
and they seem to work just as hard as they did before they caught it -
but only to get paid less. I would say they have a ball doing so,
pehaps it evens out? Either way you're part of a queer group of
especially talented and dedicated people and I much appreciate that
you have taken the time to answer my question.

-Dave
