Hi,

From the beginning the sound and music for Samurai Jack has been a key
to it's appeal and success, and this has always been part of the plan.
The usage of the music is almost a third main character in the series,
and keeps their composer James L. Venable on his toes.

Since this is a new episode the music is not out yet on any of his
CD's but will probably be out sometime in the future. You can check
his website for news of the next release of Jack Music.

On the music in the show:
GT: What we're going to do with the music… Kind of what was in the
third act, like combining old Japanese drums with new techno and
hip-hop. And through each episode, each new culture that Jack visits
or runs across will have its own music. Sometimes we'll combine old
traditional Indian music with hip-hop beats and make kind of a meld.
And I've been studying a lot of world DJs, like from Morocco and
stuff, and there's this kind of underground movement that really
sounds amazing, and we're going to try to give you some of that.

About Samurai Jack

James Venable has the vital task of composing and creating the
background music to accompany the animation on screen. The music
accentuates the emotion and atmosphere of the animation. Besides Jack,
Mr Venable has lent his composing skills to Clerks: The Animated
Series, The Powerpuff Girls, and the live-action movie Jay and Silent
Bob Strike Back.

For other researchers, the episode referred to is probably "Jack and
The Rave". See...

http://www.tvtome.com/SamuraiJack/season2.html#ep29

"In his travels Jack comes to a tavern and a crying tavern owner. Then
shadowy figures attack but Jack discovers they are teenagers, the
"Children of Aku", under a magical musical spell. Knocking one out and
following them in disguise, jack finds their rave and a sinister DJ
playing the music. The DJ spots Jack and a fight ensues. Jack takes
the fight directly to the DJ who is his near-equal. When Jack gets the
upper hand the DJ dons a speaker-battlesuit but Jack regains his lost
sword at the last minute and triumphs, freeing the children."
