The recent stock market decline has likely moved a few of these to the
next lower category. Real estate has done well so a few have moved up
recently. Most don't blab about their asset details but may
exaggerate, so only rough approximations are possible. Items of art
have a wide separation between want to buy and want to sell, so a fair
value is difficult. Many of these people are rich internationalists so
the status of American must be debatable in at least a few cases.
Sorry I don't know where to look for even some wild guesses. Neil

Hello,

According to Forbes Magazine's 2002 list of wealthiest people, there
are 243 American billionaires.

The Merryl Lynch, that published the 2002 "World Wealth Report" states
that there are 2,100,000 people in the U.S. with a net worth of a
million dollars or more.

I looked at the IRS and Census bureau statistical sites but could not
find any breakdown as you requested.

Hope this helps a little at least.
