According to the website EH.net, "In the year 1936, it took 2.48
Reichsmark to buy one U.S. Dollar."  I went to their site (see below)
and selected Europe - Germany and the year (1936).

Sorry, I forgot to add that this would mean that 1 Reichsmark was
roughly equivalent to $0.40 USD in 1936.
