How can one say, "Will you marry me" in the Bosnian language - only
answer if you really know the language well- a Croatian dialect, for
example, may not be entirely correct and I don't want to screw this
one up!

Cephalic,

I am fairly sure that the phrase is the same in Bosnian as in
bog-standard Croatian. However, I appreciate you might prefer any
potential Bosnian users of GA to have first go. Let me know if you do
need an answer from me. I am not a native speaker, but I lived in
Zagreb (Croatia) for five years and got to know the language well
enough to do translation work.

BTW, the word used is different for a man and a woman. I'm assuming
you're male.

Tehuti-ga,

Yes, please do give me the Croatian phrase. She will surely
understand me even if it is slightly different.

Thanks very much.

Hello Cephalic,

The phrase you want is: Hoces li se udati za mene?

I've written it here without the diacritical marks over the c and s,
because they will probably not come out.

To see what the real thing looks like, go to
http://www.iskon.hr/webcafe/zanimljivosti/page/2002/05/17/4044006.html
Scroll approximately half-way down the page.
(BTW, in the context of this web page it is a joke question asked by
the interviewer of the Croatian contestant in Eurovision 2002!)

If you need to say it, here is an approximate pronunciation:
Hochesh lee seh oodahtee zah mehneh?

And with all my heart I wish you the realisation of all your dreams,
because you certainly deserve to win on account of your courage and
initiative, and she is a very lucky lady!

Sretno! (good luck)

Search strategy: none except to look for the phrase on Google

Ooops, forgot to say that what you want to hear back from her is: da
(yes), naravno (certainly, of course)!
