Hello.
No major league team swept a season series between 1901 and 1960.
According to a list published in the Honolulu Star Bulletin, August
29, 1996, the first season series sweep since 1900 was accomplished by
the Baltimore Orioles in 1970 when they went 12-0 against the Kansas
City Royals.
From the Star Bulletin's web site:
"Season series sweeps since 1900
12-0 - Baltimore Orioles over Kansas City Royals, 1970.
11-0 - Baltimore Orioles over Oakland Athletics, 1978.
12-0 - Kansas City Royals over Baltimore Orioles, 1988.
12-0 - Oakland Athletics over New York Yankees, 1990.
13-0 - Atlanta Braves over Colorado Rockies, 1993.
12-0 - Montreal Expos over San Diego Padres, 1994.
12-0 - Cleveland Indians over Detroit Tigers, 1996."

This list is essentially confirmed by the Washington Post's "1996 in
Review" August 1996 in Sports," which describes the 1996 Cleveland
Indians as "the seventh team to sweep a season series since 1900."
See the Washington Post's web site:

There have been several sweeps since 1996, such as the Yankees' 10-0
sweep of the Royals in 1998, [ see story in South Coast Today:
http://www.s-t.com/daily/08-98/08-21-98/d03sp121.htm ]. However,
clearly the statistic is not as impressive as a 22-0 sweep would have
been.
Interestingly, the Yankees came close to sweeping the St Louis Browns
in 1927. The Yankees won their first 21 games against the Browns, but
lost the final game of the series.
