I sell Video tutorials on CD. I'd like to sell oracle, sql server, and java classes on ebay; however there are several people selling copied versions of competitors products for next to nothing(1/100 of normal retail): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2068441868 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2067546531 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2068140918 I've tried vero, but it doesn't work. The copyright holders don't respond to emails. I've ordered several of these copies to verify they are pirated software. I've contacted ebay, but they just tell me to use their vero program. I've contacted software companies specializing in software piracy: http://www.bsa.org/usa/antipiracy/ No efficacy. What can I do to have a level playing field on ebay? |

Here's an idea. Why don't you buy a product from them. Hopefully, they will send you a sales receipt with their address on it. Or if they don't provide you with anything, certainly the shipping label will tell you what city and state they're in. Then report it to the police. I believe selling pirated software if a criminal offense. I know the authorities typically go for the 'source' (counterfeit rings) rather than the seller, but it might result in at least a phone call to the offending seller and that might scare him off. Just a thought. Good luck. |

Where are you? In the UK, there used to be an organisation called FAST (Federation of Software Theft) who have acted on behalf of software producers. If they are still going (and there may be a US equivalent, they would probably be interested in your info. |

Instead of emailing the Vero program thing, you may want to directly call eBay and register a complaint that way: 1-800-322-9266 1-888-749-3229 1-877-438-3229 (California only) 1-408-558-7400 Hours 7:30 AM 5:30 PM Pacific Time M-F The initial voice menu: Know Persons Extension press 1 Dial by name Directory press 0 Customer Service press 2 Operator press 3 Some of the Customer Service voice menu options lead to a message asking you to email them, but certain paths will lead you to a live person. |

the fbi is the government organization that normally deals with software piracy (and similar). I suggest contacting them since you haven't gotten anywhere with the people you have already contacted. |

i notice that the first auction you listed was removed. although a big amount of your time would be spent trying to "police ebay" if you want to do that, i do think they will remove individual auctions. |
