Hello fwscholl,
You should be able to accomplish what you want to do without
downloading any special programs (although they do exist).
1. Open a New Mail window.
2. Put your recipient's addresses in the "BCc"-field (Blind Carbon
copy). If it is not visible, go the "View" menu and choose "show all
headers".
3. Make sure a semicolon, not a comma, separates each address.
4. You should also be able to find a BCc field in your address book.
That's all there is to it. Press "Send" and each person should receive
their own email without knowing about any of the other recipients.

OK, I tried this without success. When you put individual addresses
in the bcc field as you suggest, email does go out to those people.
However, in the to: field they won't see their own address when they
get the message! That's what I asked for. Also, I was creating a
"group" in outlook express called data_security and I added members to
that group hoping to send to all group members by simply choosing
data_security as the recipient. But that too placed all of the names
in the to: field and didn't look professional. What do you think???

Hi,
Regarding the "to field" question, try this:
Put one of your recipients in the regular "To" field.
Put all the rest in the "bbc" field.
This will send a copy of the "To" message to all recipients. The
messages will be addressed to "undisclosed recipients" if you leave
the "to" field blank.
I'll get back to you on the "group" question -

Hi again,
Try this:
1. Address a new message to yourself.
2. Type the group name in the bcc field.
This will solve all of your problems except one - each email will be
private but they will be addressed to you instead of the individual. I
think this is probably the best option without starting to look at
other programs.
Let me know what you think -

I appreciate your efforts, but you didn't answer my question. I
stated that I want the recipient address in the to: field. If the
answer is that this can't be done with OE, but I need email program
xyz, that is what I wanted. If you don't know how to do this, I feel
that you should have left the question for someone else who does!!

Hi fwscholl,
I've double-checked and as far as I can see, this is your best option
within OE:
Address Book:
New Group:
First Name Field: Choose a short phrase that will suit for all
recipients
Email Addresses Field: Your own email address.
New Message:
bcc: type name of group
to: type beginning of phrase above
You can tweak this a bit more as far as shortcuts go, but that is the
basic idea. All recipients will see the same thing (not each other) -
the only down side is their emails will say "To: [your phrase] [your
email address]. If you don't want your email address to show up in the
"To" field, you could register for a new one at one of the free
services (hotmail, yahoo, etc) and use that.
Please let me know how this goes for you or if you have any questions.
