Mozilla has this feature called a "Javascript console".  To check for
javascript errors you open it up and look at the list.  This is kind
of cumbersome and I'd like to have the option to have javascript
errors "popup" when they occur just like IE.

I don't believe Mozilla/Netscape provide such an option.
I hope some other researcher can help you find a solution.

I'm afraid it's no longer possible in the current Mozilla codebase.
