Dear anonymous777,
Please let me know the type of DVD player you use: Brand and exact
model name, and if possible also the year of production (e.g. "Mustek
562, made in 2000"). Maybe there is a, perfectly legal, way to help
you.

Dear anonymus,
I managed to locate a VHS version of the movie; however, it is a
version from a European country, fully dubbed in a language very
rarely spoken outside that country. Do you require an English version
because you need to understand the dialogue? Or would you also accept
a dubbed version, because you are mainly interested in the visual
aspect of the film?
Please let me know, and I will post the link as an answer.

Dear anonymous777,
Please forgive me my dullness. I have just read your first version of
this question in which you clearly say that you are looking for any
kind of copy of "Ringer" with Shannon Whirry. Assuming that your main
attention is directed towards the visual screenplay than the dialogue,
I will now post my answer.

Dear anonymous777,
As it seems, there is only one country worldwide where "Ringer",
starring Shannon Whirry, has seen release as a home video: Russia. The
Russian home video company "Ekaterinburg Art Home Video" produces
licensed VHS versions of this film. I assume that the movie has been
dubbed with Russian dialogue for release there; but since you have
made clear in your previously posted version of this question that any
VHS copy of "Ringer" would satisfy your needs, I will give you this as
an answer.
"Ringer" has been released under the title "Две опасные леди / Dwe
olasnye ledi" (= Two dangerous ladies) in Russia. It is, nevertheless,
exactly the same movie. You can order it from Ozon, a large Russian
online shop comparable to Amazon.com, they have it in stock:
http://www.ozon.ru/?context=detail&id=70936
As you probably do not understand Russian, please have a look at this
version of the website, translated to English using Altavista's
Babelfish:
http://world.altavista.com/sites/dede/pos/babelfish/urltrurl?tt=url&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ozon.ru%2F%3Fcontext%3Ddetail%26id%3D70936&lp=ru_en&urltext=
The price of the VHS is 144.00 Rubles, which currently equals
approximately $4.53, excluding shipping cost. Ozon delivers worldwide.
For further basic translation of the Ozon website, I recommend using
Altavista's Babelfish service, though the translations are a bit
bumpy. But it should do for ordering:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/
Please note the following: The television norm in Russia is SECAM,
while most Western European countries use PAL. However, European video
players can normally handle both, so this would not be a problem.
In the USA and a couple of other countries, the TV norm is NTSC. Many
modern VCRs use a multi-norm technology and can play all three
variants. Should you be located in the USA and not own a newer VCR
capable of also playing SECAM and PAL format video tapes, you are not
lost: There are dealers specialized in making copies of European
videos, converted to NTSC.
Search terms used:
"Carlo Gustaff," ringer:

I hope I was able to help you getting your copy of the movie!

Dear anonymus777,
The problem is: No Google Reseracher is allowed to show you a way how
to a copy of the movie recorded from cinemax. Such recordings are
illegal, and Google Answers Researchers are, by the Google Answers
Terms of Service, strictly forbidden to participate in anything that
involves illegal acts. A Google Researcher who did so would be in big
trouble, both by Google Answers and by the law enforcement
authorities.
The only thing we may do is help you obtaining a copy of "Ringer"
produced legally. And after searching all kinds of databases, I am
sorry to say that Playboy Entertainment (producing company of
"Ringer") has not released neither a DVD nor a VHS of the film on any
major market, including the USA. A legal American home video or DVD of
ringer simply does not exist.
Still, there is a chance for you to get the movie: As I know from the
answer to your previous question concerning this topic, you have been
shown the source of a Korean DVD of "Ringer", undubbed. I have done
research on your DVD player and found out that the Sharp Moviegoer can
modifyed by specialist entertainment electronics dealers; after such a
modification, it will play DVDs from any region of the world -
including region 5, Korea.
This would be, in my humble opinion, the most comfortable way for you
to get "Ringer":
- Order the Korean DVD. It is the movie you are searching for, I
cross-checked various Korean sources, and Shannon Whirry is listed as
actress everywhere, as well as Carlo Gustaff as director. And it is
English, with Korean sub-titles only.
- Bring your Sharp Moviegoer to a specialist entertainment electronics
dealer. Ask him to modify it to "Regional Protection Code Free". This
is absolutely legal!
- Enjoy the movie.
This is the only advice any Google Answers Researcher can give you. It
is not a matter of how much money you offer for the answer. It is just
that the "perfect" answer does not exist. Please give this suggestion
a chance, dear anonymus777. It is the best you will get, you have my
word on this.

Dear anonymus777,
A little information update that might be important: After extensive
search and long telephone calls, I found out that this year an
Austrian company has published "Ringer" on DVD, under the title
"Ringer - Unter falschem Namen" ("Ringer - Under false identity").
This is, of course, a German version, but as far as I am informed you
can choose to have the original English dialogue. What is more
important: It is a Region 2 DVD, not made for American Region 1 DVD
players. You can order this DVD version of "Ringer" without any
problems from Amazon.de, the German branch of Amazon.com, for 9.99
Euro (approx. $10.00), excl. shipping:
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/dvd-de/B000066II0/tech-info/ref=ed_tec_dp_2_1/302-9805779-7353610
I have checked this one. It is definitely the "Ringer" you are looking
for, as you can see in this newsgroup posting of European TV program
schedules:
http://groups.google.de/groups?q=%22ringer+-+Unter+falschem+namen%22&hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=20020222164300.01358.00000016%40mb-de.aol.com&rnum=1
But you will need to have either your Sharp Moviegoer modified for
watching it or to buy a cheap multi-region DVD player. Such DVD sets
are perfectly legal, made by the major entertainment electronics
companies and easy to get, even for prices around $120. This would
also give you the possibility of watching the Korean DVD, by the way.
This is, alas, the only advice I can give you.
