How do I merge data from a PDF file into an MS Access Table. I have a calender with information in the date boxes in a PDF format and would like to put that data into a table in MS Access so I can work with it. |

I am no Expert! What I've done is copied and pasted from the PDF file into Excel. Then, while in Access, imported from Excel into Access. Usually, I've done this if I wanted to have the data in Excel AND Access. Alternatively, I've Copied from the PDF file, then pasted directly into Access. Pain in the neck! Hopefully, a true expert will post a better answer. |

A software could be written that uses a pdf library/api to get the data from the pdf file (for example www.pdflib.com) and use the MS automation to put it into the excel/access files. I dont know of any commercial software that does it though. |

Hi pancake70-ga, Adobe who are the creators of PDF have a website which has mulitple options to convert PDF to HTML or text. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_email.html I hope option2 is good for you. Option 2 If the Adobe PDF file is on local media, such as a hard drive, CD-ROM, or internal server, it can be submitted as a MIME attachment to an e-mail message. All converted Adobe PDF documents will be sent back to the sender as MIME attachments. For plain text, mail the attached PDF to pdf2txt@adobe.com. For HTML, mail the attached PDF to pdf2html@adobe.com. To use it to convert a pdf to text send thd pdf doc as attachement and sent to pdf2txt@adobe.com. You will get the converted text by reply mail. The text can be directly uploaded to Access table or Excel. Good Luck RAC |
