Hi - I was interested in your question because I helped a friend in
India locate a supplier here in the US a few years ago. It was not an
easy task since I had no experience in the "waste paper" business.
After several hours on the net, I went to my local library and
discovered that they were subscribers to a web-based business /
industry search. I am sorry, but I don't know the name of that
service and my records are buried in storage.
That search did net several hundred (a thousand?) possible suppliers.
He made a list of 5 potential candidates. Ultimately we connected
with an obscure division (in New York) of a major US paper company.
After meeting with them, they could not believe that I had found them
since "they did not look for business". After 5 or so years, it was
not a successful relationship. (Availability and pricing.) He is
currently working through a broker in California.
After you posted your question, I did some searching on the web and
encountered the same problem that I did years ago. There does not
appear to be a list of these companies. There are a few websites that
do post wanted/available quantities: recycle.net, etc. Obviously
this is not ideal if you are looking for a supplier who can provide a
consistent quantity.
Hopefully, an expert will post a much better answer!
I did find some hopeful sites if you are interested in making a few
telephone calls.
