Hey,
First of all, it is quite hard for me to tell you what business area
that should be restricted, since "information technology has been using
in any kind of workplaces nowadays.
So, I hope the report can be connected with what i have learned in my
classes and to support the idea in this report. So, i am going to give
you some key points that i have known from my sessions.
1.date to information--how to transfer data to information, how to use of
information for decision( including: Critical Success Factors and Key
Performance Indicators)
2.technical trends--do IT explore the potential or limitations of
technology in dealing with workplace information?
3.individual and organisational factors--the concept of socio-technical
systems is introduced to place emphasis on the need to consider technical,
social and organisational factors in the introduction of new technology.
what are individual barriers to information flows? however, how modern
organisations remove these barriers and to reshape their structure by IT.
4.Information literacy and policies--to understand different notions of
information and to explore the relevance of information literacy to
organisations, and to examine how network company align information
policies with other policy aress, assess the value of information policies
and explore changing roles.
As for 'groupware', my teacher used two case studies-- Shorko, a French
manufacturing company, and Unilever, to
*test understanding of the socio-technical framework
*apply it to examples of the inter-relationship among information, people,
structures and IT
*look at the limits of the framework
*build on the exploration of technology that we have conducted so far.
I hope these explainations for my question can give more clear ideas to
help me to finish this report. If you still feel confusion about my
question, please let me know.
