Hello Tallmagazine and thank you for your question.

According to "Tall Facts and Trivia" at the Tall Club of New York City
website:

0.7% Percent of US women are 5'-10" or taller
3.9% Percent of US men that 6'-2" or taller
The average US adult male is 5'-9.1"
The average US adult female is 5'-3.7"

U.S. Population
Total Resident Population - July 2001 estimate
Males: 138,053,563 (49.1% of pop.)
Females: 143,368,343 (50.9% of pop.)
Source: InfoPlease Website

With the above data I calculated that there are:

1,003,578 women who are 5'10" or taller (0.7% of 143,368,343)

5,384,089 men who are 6'2" or taller (3.9% of 138,053,563)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Since we need the number of men 6'3" or taller I located the following
resource where that figure can be calculated.

Arjan's Tall Pages – Statistics about Body Height
This website includes height tables for the U.S., Germany, Japan and
the Netherlands.

I used the table “How many people are over a certain height?” to
calculate the figures you requested in your question.
http://www.tallpages.com/uk/ukstatist.php#usaci

The following figure tells you the partition of people that are as
tall as, or taller than the named height.

USA Males; 6'3" (1m91): 0.0146.
That means that 14.6 of 1,000 or 146 of 10,000 males in the USA are
6’3” and taller.

Total Males: 138,053,563
1.46% of 138,053,563 = 2,015,582

2,015,582 males are 6’3” or taller

USA Females; 5'10" (1m78): 0.0078
That means that 7.8 of 1,000 or 78 of 10,000 females in the USA are
5’10” and taller.

Total Females: 143,368,343
0.78% of 143,368,343 = 1,118,273

1,118,273 females are 5’10” or taller

Source: Arjan's Tall Pages – Statistics about Body Height
http://www.tallpages.com/uk/ukstatist.php#usaci

In conclusion, the answer to your question is:

1,060,925 females are 5’10” or taller (average of figures above)
2,015,582 males are 6’3” or taller
