It looks like the average price paid for a screenplay in Hollywood is
around $200,000.00. The evidence for this is somewhat sketchy,
however, since most of the sites that mention it are selling books or
classes on how to write a screenplay. Here are some examples:

Done Deal publish a monthly list of scripts sold, and sometimes the
price paid, at www.scriptsales.com.  My impression from looking at the
lists for August and September 2003 is that movie people are becoming
more vague about the prices paid.
