Hi Lisa2002~
A good place to start might be Replacements, Ltd. They sell
replacement pieces of china to consumers. Here is a link to their
Oakley page:
http://www.replacements.com/splash.htm
And their Aynsley page:
http://www.replacements.com/china/AYN.htm
You could contact them and see if they have the pieces you have, and
find out what they are asking for them.
There's also an Aynsley Collector's Society that may be able to
provide you with some information; they are located in England:
http://www.aynsley.co.uk/
You can also look at eBay and see what similar pieces are selling for
there. Here's a link to a search for Oakley china currently being
sold:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=Oakley+China
And another for Aynsley china currently being sold:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=aynsley+china
To see how much pieces have sold for in the recent past, simply go to
ebay ( http://www.ebay.com ) and click on the "Search" button at the
top of the page. Then click on the "Completed Items" tab and type in
either "Aynsley china" or "Oakley china."
When it comes time to sell, you will usually get more for the pieces
if you sell them yourself (eBay is a good place to do this), but if
you don't have the time needed for such a venture, Replacements, Ltd.
also buys china. In addition, local antique dealers may be interested
in purchasing your china outright. (I don't generally recommend
selling via consignment, because the pieces may sit in an antique shop
for many months before you get any money for them.) Just remember that
dealers must make a profit, too, so you can expect to get much less
for the china if you sell it to a dealer...sometimes as much as 40%
less. To find local dealers, check your local yellow pages under
"Antiques."
