Many, many years ago, I saw an ad in a flying magazine.

It could have been 20 to 30 years ago.

The ad was to sell a book, about a father and his son flying across
the United States in a two place Taylorcraft airplane.

The name of the magazine may have been “Flying”.

It may not have been “Flying”, but I know it was a magazine about
flying.

I would sure like to locate the book, and purchase it.

Could the plane have been a Stearman biplane rather than a Taylorcraft?

I was asked by juggler-ga, if the plane was a Stearman biplane.

No, it was a Taylorcraft.
I am clear on this because my first airplane was a Taylorcraft.
And, I always wanted to fly it across the United States, but never had the time.

Clarification:
It may have been a long journey within the United States.
And, not across the United States.

Thank you for all of the comments.

www.wilderness.net/carhart/manual/k-8/08K-8.PDF
pointed me towards the following book:
“Wrong Way Ragsdale” by Charles Hammer
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=2UYUSSK5K5&isbn=0374386579
It’s published in 1987, so I don’t think this is the exact one we’re
looking for. In the book, a boy and his sister crash their father’s
plane in the woods and have to survive.

Another possibility, although I’m don’t think so.

There are a bunch of GA researchers who are pilots and we're all
pulling for you. My suggestion: call Historic Aviation in MN
(800-225-5575) and put the question to them. I'd do it for you but
you probably remember some details that would be key.

Best regards,
