Dear torrie, The exact title of the song you have in mind way "Angie The Christmas Tree Angel", sometimes referred to as "Christmas Tree Angel" only. It was written by M.K. Jerome and Jack Scholl and recorded by the Andrews Sisters in 1950. Unfortunately, there seems not to be a tape featuring this song. But it is included in a CD, available from Amazon.com: "A Merry Christmas with Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters", available for $10.98: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004ZEJ1/qid=1036960154/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/104-5932261-4743153?v=glance&s=music Sources: HallMusic.com: A Merry Christmas with Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters http://hallmusic.com/index.php/Mode/product/AsinSearch/B00004ZEJ1/name/A%2520Merry%2520Christmas%2520with%2520Bing%2520Crosby%2520%2526%2520The%2520Andrews%2520Sisters/browse/67175/page/2 Songbirds: December Reviews - Our Favorite Christmas Albums http://www.mrlucky.com/songbirds/html/dec99/9912_reviews.html Rubin's Rock'n'Roll Discography Reference, by Rubin http://www.rockmusiclist.com/rock_anf.htm Search terms used: angie christmas tree angel: ://www.google.de/search?hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=angie+christmas+tree+angel&meta= "Angie, The Christmas Tree Angel": ://www.google.de/search?hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22Angie%2C+The+Christmas+Tree+Angel%22&btnG=Google-Suche&meta= "christmas tree angel" "andrews sisters": ://www.google.de/search?q=%22christmas+tree+angel%22+%22andrews+sisters%22&hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=0&sa=N Hope this helps! Hi torrie, I think I've found you a source (A Cappella Online Buyers Club). It isn't a single release, however; it's on a CD titled 'A Merry Christmas with Bing Crosby & The Andrew Sisters.' I realize you'd prefer a taped version and if I run across one, I'll let you know. Order #: 4316 CD$14.98 Contact information and the company's instructions for ordering: "When you place your first order (not before) send us your credit card # and its expiration date, along with your order (see the "how to order" section below). If you do not feel comfortable sending the information via e-mail then you can send it via regular mail (PO Box D, San Anselmo, CA 94979), fax (415-459-1622) or phone (1-800-SING-181)." The Andrew sisters http://www.singers.com/jazz/vintage/andrews.html I'll bet this is a great album -- how can you go wrong with Bing Crosby teaming up with the Andrew Sisters, eh? Good luck, revbrenda1st |
